Living On Love

I didn't expect to really like Family of the Year the opening band for Milo Greene.  I had listened to them a little bit on Spotify before the show, but they ended up sounding awesome live.  The same thing happened to me with Delta Spirit, who ended up being AMAZING live.  Family of the Year had a similar sound to Milo Greene indie-rock and I think they also have 4 dudes and one chick.  The drummer and frontman were brothers from Boston originally so that was awesome.  We met and talked to the female vocalist, Christina, she was super cool and laid back... I think she said she was from Orange County.  I say check em out, their first album Songbook, is a little more psych-rock, this a video of their last song of the night:

Onto Milo... I scored a sweet poster from the Middle East, but since I was too chicken to ask,  Liz asked all the band members for their signatures.  Im glad she did because I ended up meeting and getting to talk to most of the band.  I was was pretty tipsy and I'm sure babbling because I was so nervous to meet them!  Marlana is the female vocalist and super sweet.  We talked to her for awhile and she shared that she was exhausted.  I never would have been able to tell by the performance she had just put on.  I guess they were on their way to NH and then Montreal by van.  They had just come from NY where they had to stay up for 36 hours straight to play on Letterman.  Crazy lifestyle.  I made sure to tell the whole band I would see them in Philly, I was so proud of myself, lol.  I'm back in Philly and going to to see The Givers tonight.  I'll post about the show later this week.
